Valvtechnologies Acquires
Valvtechnologies, Inc. is pleased to announce the successful completion of acquiring “N” and “NPT” Authorizations and Code Stamps – the final hurdle in completing the quest to become a full fledged nuclear supplier.
A major milestone, the certifications give Valvtechnologies access to an industry that has otherwise sat dormant and dominated by valve obsolescence for 25 years, but one that is gearing up for a renaissance in which the United States has not seen.
Today, nuclear power plants generate approximately 20 percent of the electricity produced in this country. To maintain nuclear power’s contribution to the national energy portfolio, an expected rate of three to four, newly designed and constructed nuclear plants, per year will need to be brought online starting in 2015 through 2030. The rapid commissioning schedule will require is a tremendous amount of code-rated materials and equipment. Valvtechnologies – one of only 17 North American valve manufacturers who hold an “N” stamp – is prepared to meet the demand.
The program, developed under the direction of Bill Henwood, Nuclear Division Director, and Cesar Mejia, Nuclear Engineering Manager with the assistance of a dedicated nuclear team, enhances Valvtechnologies' already extensive quality assurance portfolio, which includes ISO9001, API, ASME Section I and PED Certifications.
