New Valvtechnologies Service Center Opens
Feb 9, 2010
ValvTechnologies recently authorized a new service center to open at Control Southern’s Suwanee facility near Atlanta, Georgia. Control Southern now has fully trained and certified technicians with the knowledge to perform service work on ValvTechnologies valves. Services include valve repair, automation and field support. They will also stock parts ensuring the turn around time to service a valve is minimized. Control Southern serves Georgia, central Alabama and eastern Tennessee.
The authorization process normally takes two to three months. During this time, Control Southern sent technicians to the ValvTechnologies offices in Houston for a week-long intensive technical training course. To become certified, the technicians must have been able to demonstrate knowledge on how to take apart the valve and inspect it for root cause failure. They must then be able to determine the components that need to be repaired or replaced to bring the valve back to “as new” condition which includes the ValvTechnologies standard of zero leakage.
Another part of the authorization process included an audit of the Control Southern facility by a ValvTechnologies service employee. During this audit, ValvTechnologies inspected and verified that had adequate tools and equipment to re-test and certify valves to the ValvTechnologies standards. The facility must also have quality procedures in place to ISO standards.
